Central Railway Adds 42 Special Summer Trains via Pune and LTT to Tackle Holiday Rush

To handle the holiday rush this summer, Central Railway has added 42 new AC summer special trains. These trains will operate through Pune and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) in Mumbai. With this, the total count of summer special trains in 2025 has reached 1,198, including 284 unreserved services.


Central Railway Summer Special Trains 2025 Announced for April–May

Every summer, rail traffic rises sharply due to school vacations and tourism. To manage the load, Central Railway summer special trains 2025 will run between April and May. These include high-demand routes to Goa, Nagpur, and Delhi, starting from Pune and LTT.

One popular route is the LTT to Karmali (Goa) service:

  • Train 01051 departs LTT (Kurla) at 10:15 PM every Friday from April 11 to May 24. It arrives in Karmali at 12:00 PM the next day.
  • The return, Train 01052, leaves Karmali at 2:30 PM every Saturday. It reaches LTT by 4:00 AM the following morning.

This service is expected to reduce pressure on regular Mumbai–Goa trains during weekends.


Pune Summer Special Trains 2025 to Nagpur and Delhi

Pune–Nagpur Weekly Special Trains

  • Train 01439 will run every Saturday from April 12 to May 25, departing Pune at 7:55 PM and arriving in Nagpur at 2:45 PM on Sunday.
  • The return, Train 01440, departs Nagpur at 4:15 PM on Sundays and reaches Pune at 7:20 AM Monday.

Pune–Delhi Summer Trains via Hazrat Nizamuddin

  • Train 01442 leaves Pune at 5:30 PM every Tuesday, from April 15 to May 27. It reaches Hazrat Nizamuddin at 6:10 PM the next day.
  • Return service starts April 16, with the train leaving Delhi every Wednesday at 8:20 PM and arriving in Pune at 11:55 PM Thursday.
  • These trains run until May 28.

Booking and Ticket Information for Summer Specials

Bookings opened on April 8. Tickets are available online through the IRCTC website or at any computerised reservation centre.

These trains are classified under special fares, meaning prices may be slightly higher. For unreserved travel, passengers can book tickets through the UTS app or counters at standard rates.

Railway officials advise passengers to book early to secure confirmed seats.
