A deadly collision occurred on Sunday night, May 11, 2025, near Saragaon on the Raipur–Balodabazar highway in Chhattisgarh. The crash resulted in 13 deaths and left 11 others injured.

The victims were returning from a “Chhathi” ceremony in Bano village. Their Swaraj Mazda vehicle collided head-on with a trailer truck around 11:00 PM. The vehicle, carrying several women and children, was traveling from Chataud to Bano. The truck, traveling at high speed, caused significant damage to both vehicles.
Casualties and Injuries
Among the 13 deceased were nine women, two girls, one boy, and a six-month-old infant. Eleven others were injured, many critically. They were rushed to a local hospital and later transferred to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital in Raipur for further treatment.

The victims had been attending a cultural “Chhathi” ceremony, which marks the sixth day of a newborn’s life. What should have been a celebratory journey turned into a heartbreaking tragedy. The group’s trip from Chataud to Bano ended in this fatal crash.
