CRPF Enhances Security for Kashmir Rail Link

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is significantly strengthening security along the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) in Jammu and Kashmir. Given the region’s importance and its vulnerability to threats, the CRPF is deploying advanced technology and security measures to protect the rail line.

CCTV Surveillance in Tunnels

The CRPF is installing CCTV cameras every 50 meters inside the tunnels along the rail route. These cameras will continuously monitor activities and help detect suspicious behavior. By connecting the system to a central control room, security personnel can react quickly to any potential threat.

With this setup, the CRPF will monitor all tunnel activities in real time, ensuring a faster response during critical situations.

Escape Tunnels for Passenger Safety

In addition, the CRPF is constructing over 67 kilometers of escape tunnels. These tunnels will allow passengers and railway staff to evacuate safely during emergencies, whether from an attack or natural disaster. They offer an immediate route to safety, ensuring quick evacuation when needed.

High-Tech Security Equipment

The CRPF is equipping its forces with state-of-the-art security tools. Critical Situation Response Vehicles (CSRV) are ready for high-risk operations. Bulletproof JCBs will help clear debris and obstacles in dangerous areas, while drones will provide aerial surveillance for a broader security perspective.

In addition, handheld thermal imagers and wall-through radars will detect unauthorized movements in low-visibility conditions. These advanced tools enhance situational awareness and boost the CRPF’s ability to respond to threats swiftly.

The CRPF has upgraded its vehicle armor to Level 4 bulletproof standards. These reinforced vehicles ensure the safety of personnel during operations in hostile environments, especially in areas with high militant activity.
